what kind of router do you have? the easiest way to put your self in the "dmz" is to look inyour manual for your router, with most routers you can access their configuration by typing in a ip address for the router, alot of them use "192.168.1.1" type that in any web browser like internet explorer. After you type in the right ip address, it will pop up a username/password box, look inyour book, some routers use only a password with a blank username, some use both, your manual should tell you what the default is. Once in your configuration, look thru the screens until you find dmz, it will usually look like this 192.168.1.___ , the last set of numbers will be blank, thats where you type in the ip address your computer is pulling from your router, if you use win95, 98, or me you can type in "winipcfg" under the "run" in your start menu. If you have 2000 or xp, type in "cmd" in your start run, that will load up a command prompt, type in "ipconfig" and it will give you tell you your ip address. Type whatever the last number ofyour ip address into your dmz space in your router. This should let you serve anything, just tell your friend your ip address and it should work for you, if your friend is serving the game, he will have to do what i just told you if he has a router. Just keep in mind that putting yourself in the dmz will remove all the protection your router gives you, its not a big deal really but if you are worried about it, when you are done with your game, go back into your router and type a 0 for the last number for the dmz.
