editing CHARACTERS

Hi, I was hopin if any one could please tell me how to edit units. i mean like making custom units that is not originaly in the World editor. And in some maps i have seen custom made weapon items where once a hero picks it up the weapon appears in the Heros hand.
Can someone PLEASE tell me how to do it...

Ok I think by your lack of more defining terms you mean custom models, like the weapons that appear in a hero's hand... those require a modeling program (Try Google 'GMax'), also an animation program (I don't know where to get one of these... Maybe GMax supports it), Wrapping tool (For wrapping images onto the model <AKA Texture>, try Google 'LithUnwrap' I think), image program (Google 'GIMP' also need something called GTK that will most likely come with it), and last but not least, a model conversion program...

Im sure most of these can be found at www.Wc3Sear.ch in the Tool section, then try going to forums > Tutorials > modeling, or even the modeling tutorial to the left

How you mean by Custom Units .. Just units with different stats and damage etc.. or do you mean custom models?

Anyways, custom units with different stats is made under the Object Editor and custom Models can be found at http://www.wc3sear.ch/index.php?p=Models&sid=
