Elevators

I have this shop in my map called the Shop of Wonders; it has very rare items and it's incredibly difficult to get to it. One way that it is difficult to get to it is that you can only get to the island it's on between midnight and 3:00. The way I want to do this is have elevators rise out of the water during this time. However, my elevators don't rise (I think they do, but maybe not high enough). Any ideas on how to fix this?

Why not instead hide the elevators instead of "rising" them? Or, store the point of the elevator in a variable and destroy them during the period and then recreate them at that point in the variable?

The problem is they don't seem to show up because they're underwater, so I can't see them at all, even in the editor. Can you not have underwater elevators maybe?

Probably. Just recreate them instead, it's not too hard. I can see why you'd want them to rise up out of the water, for the cool looking effect but it really would look weird because the water wouldn't "flow" with the elevators. :banghead:

Hmmm...that doesn't work. Is there any way I'd be able to create a similar effect over water?

Hmmm. I have elevators under water.

Go to the View menu, and toggle water. Now you can see them.

Some basics.

Shallow Water = 1.
Deep water = 2.

Elevator can move to heights 1, or 2.

So I raise mine 2, so you can see them.

Height of 1, you will not. I don't know why, because you will see them in shallow water.

Shallow water and deep water behave differently

Lets speculate, when you raise it out of the water, you can see it, but its not high enough. You can do two things.

1. Adjust the height of the elevator doodad higher, using the CTRL-key and PAGE UP.
2. Have a patch of shallow water. Now it will be seen too unfortunately.

PS: Platform Perril is made of custom shaped elevator models that are under water. I know it works.
