Ensure file integrity between 2 servers

Hi everyone,

I am working on a project that is migrating files from the old server to new server. Note that the old Server runs on Novell while new server runs on Windows Active Directory.

I would like to ask if anyone know of any program or algorithm that can loop through all the files in both servers and check for integrity. This also includes file permission transferred over. In short, It needs to be able to check the files/folders between the two servers, and create a log or something that we can interpret if there are any file changes / permission changes.

Thanks in advance

Not sure if you can check permissions directly across different systems like that, but stuff like beyondcompare will check that the files are the same - as for integrity, they would need to be signed or something if you want more than the file system integrity check.

there are also noSQL databases that specialize in these types of things and may be better suited to your needs.
