These commercials by Rhett and Link are done like this on purpose. Like the "Chuck Testa" one. They do comedy things like this for smaller channels and online.
More mainstream television commercials are usually different. It costs a lot of money to air your work on TV and you have to fit their time slot so they can be like 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 seconds long. Usually 15 or 30.
It'll be good practice at least, I did a bunch of practice boards the last few weeks but that's a bit different than actual repair. It's pretty obvious what's going on with those, so it's not very hard to trace the leads, and they aren't designed with faults so
