I just wanted to throw out my new project.

Some of you might have known the map 'Platform Escape' which I really find amazing.
Now I am remaking it in vJass, adding a lot of fun stuff (which I am not saying at this stage) and I want to have an even nicer gameplay.

The engine is able to change gravity, is completely bugfree and is fast.
This map will be open-source, so everyone can check the sourcecode.

About the gameplay:
You have one whisp in a 2D world. There is gravity.
You move with left/right, jump with up arrow.
You have to run / jump / fly through multiple levels, bosses and enemies to get to the end.

However, I will still 'protect' (optimize) the map in order to run it faster.

About the testmap:
The teleporter do NOT work. If you reach them, thanks for playing.
The TileCheckers are for testing purposes only. If you encounter a bug please send me a screenshot (if possible).

Pretty damn fun, i died so much till i understood the bricks meant safety Dx

I found no bugs except the damn health bars floating everywhere.

Have you ever thought about adding more escapers you can choose from, would be kinda cool to pick. ;)

Can't wait till this game is finished. :D

Hmm, I'll see whether I do this or not :)

I give some more hints for what it will be like:
* Teleporters
* Enemy AI
* Patrolling Whisp Wheels
* Shooters
* Epic Bosses
* Escaper Skills
* Unit Weight changing (Changes gravitystrengh for units aswell)
* Space (You do not have any gravity)

With escaper skills are they going to be like little bubbles if you go over them then you get the skill till you cast it?? :O

I also played it :) Yep as soon as you get out how it works it's really nice, but don't take out the respawn spots, else it would be too frustrating :D

I also did some arrow key movement and I had a similar problem like I realized in your map. I don't know, maybe you want it to be that way and I don't know how you did your system, but if you single press one direction it doesn't react, you need to keep pressing the button one second at least to make the wisp move.
I "solved" this problem by counting the single presses for each player and moved (a periodic called function did all the movement) when the bottom wasn't pressed but some single presses were still stored.

Just my feeling, but my wisp died some times because I wasn't close enough to the jumper :D

But keep it going, nice map, hope for more ideas ! ;D

if your still having troubble with the HP bars

make the selection circle scaling for the units to -x where x is a number (if that fails use -1)
this will get rid of the floating bars
