Extracting Starcraft MPQ

Hey all;

I downloaded WinMPQ and have been using it to extract files from Warcraft and Starcraft for use in a campaign I'm making, however, whenever I go to try and extract files from the Starcraft MPQ "StarDat.mpq", I get a bunch of "unknowne files". Anyone know what's going on or how I can fix this?

Thanks, I looked at it on notepad and it looks like some of the files I want are on there. How am I supposed to extract them?

err, how is it you are seeing files for the warcraft mpq then? I'm pretty sure you need a listfile for that too, so I just assumed you knew what the listfile was for.......

Put the file list in the starcraft directory. Open winMPQ and click on the options menu, then click on the File Lists tab. Add your listfile to the list (make sure its called (listfile) don't rename it).

Restart winMPQ and now load the starcraft mpq.

Now I have another question : would it be possible to use the Starcraft model files for Warcraft units?

no, the starcraft models are actually 2d sprites, they are not 3d models. There is some modding group working on a starcraft conversion for war3, they are drawing everything from scratch. If I find them I will put a link here (or if anyone else remembers who they are then please post).

The group you're referring to I know of (Project Revolution), but they're not releasing their models until they complete their project.... They do have gifs of the units, however...

Is there a program that I could use to help me create models?

Sorry for the double post, but I can't edit ><

I only really need a model for the Battlecruiser, I've found models for pretty much everything else. So if anyone has them, I'd really really appreciate it!

Darg do you have an external chat program that I could tlak to you on?
