Here is a little short story about a farm boy that I feel like writing. Hoping to save and expand as much knowledge in literature for my next year of school.

Once upon a sunlit day, lived a faithful and obedient young child. His face was paved with freckles, and his red hair glistened the sky with its fragrance. He bore old smutty clothing that wrenched of sweat and hard labor. He was tired of the monotonous labor of the farm fields and had begun to take a rest. His parents, who were so eagerly involved in their work, bore no attention to the boy who only remitted hard labor, and set his eyes upon the open plains. The boy was silent, as in stance for something to happen. The dullness of his farming experience drained the personality out of him and he only waited; patiently for something to happen.

In a sudden turn of events, a cavalry was seen charging in the paved dirt road on the southern side of the farm's expansive hill. The boy, who gave no thought to his parents, drifted away to see what is going on. As he nears the edge of the hill, getting a vast glimpse of the meadows and the cavalry, the cavalry unit began to stay static. In the distance, a knight, embedded with royal plate, much of what a king would wear, unsheathed a long scroll from his knapsack. He gave it a glimpse and began to observe the area. This gave the boy insight of the cavalry's purpose. The boy thought they were looking for someone but he was just too curious. "Why don't they go away?," was all the boy was thinking about.

In a burst of speed, the same knight pointed at the boy who gave no witness of his discovery. The cavalry charges towards him but the steepness of the hill prevents them from travel by horseback. The cavalry dismounts and rush towards the boy. The boy is stunned and his fear envelops his body, tightening him; preventing him from even makes a gesture. The royal knight finally catches up to the boy and quickly takes his hand.

"Are you the boy, Rob Smith?," staunchly arose the knight's voice which was burdened by exhaustion. "Are you Rob Smith boy?," attempted the knight again to help regain the boy's consciousness.
"Ye.e....ye..yes.. si...r.," replied the boy who was still deprived of his sanity.
"God damnit boy. We were searching canyon by canyon: meadow by meadow searching for you. Why of all places are you here in this farm?," questioned the knight who felt like stumbling to the ground from fatigue.
"I.. I was.. I was born here.," rose the boy's aghast voice.
"Born here? How is the king of England born in a farm?," shrieked the knight's voice bewildered, and aggravated.
"Wha.. what?," the boy replied with appall.
"My liege. You are the blood born son of King Edward the sixth. Our current king is nearing death and he has proclaimed you, as the rightful heir to the throne. You have other brothers and sisters that you've never even heard about my liege. You must now choose to either accept the throne, or to allow one of your brother or sisters to claim it.," informed the knight of his choice.
"I.. I choose..... I choose.. I choose.. I choose.," withered the boy's voice with terror.
"Boy decide now or never! We must receive an answer immediately!," growled the knight sternly.
"I choose NOT to go!," finally replied the boy who possessed great courage now.
"As you wish my liege. Cavalry, charge!," commanded the knight to his platoon.

The cavalry marches away and the boy, who had regained more than enough of his spirit, smiled. He went back to his farm to continue his duties and would never again be tormented by the farm's dullness and boredom. He would also would never know that his sister would soon possess the throne of England.

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
