Favorite on-line game type

When I entered B.net and scrolled through the large list of created games, I noticed that LoaP games are no longer played.
The most often played games, apparently, are RPG, TD and Strife.

To ensure wether or not I am correct, I posted this poll. Please tell me which on-line game type you prefer.

Fortunatly, there is enough strife in my LoaP. If you wish, you can always fight for Lordaeron or switch sides and fight for the Undead Scourge or for the Local Bandits. There are also a lot of creeps lurking in the forest surrounding Drandarm, which makes my map look a bit like a mixture of RPG, Strife and LoaP.

well when you look at that trend, you also have to look at the psychology at work behind it.

bnet is essentially ruled by 12 year olds who are addicted to playing the same thing over and over again, regardless of how bad it is. They will typically be attracted to games with the most action in it e.g. TD or AoS, and turned off from games that actually require thinking e.g. LoaP.

So the bottom line is, most of the people who play the games you see on bnet are NOT your target audience. Your targets are the smarter crowd who normally have less of a presence online. It doesn't matter how many of them there are, only that they exist. They will enjoy your game, and see how much work has gone into it, and appreciate it to the full extent.

So if you see kids who don't like your map, just ignore them, because they typically are very bad judges of what a good map is and what a bad map is.

i agree with darg.. but all the people i know that play the map are over 14 ... i thought about making a poll to ask how old everyone is, but its sorta bad since this is a mapping site and all that make maps have to be relatively old

if people of 12 - 40 years like to play your map it will more likely be played than a map that has jokes about johhny cash in it

Sadly also luck

if you release a TD thats good 1 week after a TD thats a bit better it wont be played

Unfortunatly, it seems my map won't have a lot of success until I slightly edit my map, turning it into a half Role Playing Game.

It's strange why no-one voted LoaP. LoaP is often a mixture of melee, strife, RPG and, obviously, LoaP.

It's very striking that the more intelligent people loathe [censored]. I appreciate your disgust.

Of course, I contempt the idea of ever put [censored] in my map.

Edit : This is not always the case, but most of the time. The mind of the more intelligent people often partially resists the effects of testosteron.

Thats just because the original loap is... well not so interesting no more, but its main concept is.
Thats my opinion
