You apparently have never experienced Void ray mass in maps like Metopolis.

So I cheesed someone with photon cannons. lol

What does cheese mean?

12 void rays would lose to 20 stalkers and 3 sentries against uncharged rays. If they're all fully charged then you're going to have to let your buildings die or get more stalkers.

A cheese strategy is a gay-shit strategy. Like very very early double ling rush. Or tower rush. Or bunker rush. Or the old proxy-pylon-in-your-base-warp-in rush.

I'm liking them void rays.
Because their pretty hilariously broken.

I like how no one hides the gateway anymore so at least VR rush is easy to scout, though I am pretty much forced to go hydra now since they are the only decent count to VR and I still think muta tech is waaayyy too slow in this game... at least make the building about 30 seconds faster.

Speaking of strategies, I noticed how anything Protoss comes up with early in the game gets beaten by masses of Zealots. Is it just me, or is massive Zealot spam the only actual option until you get your tier 2 factories up?

you could beat mass zealots by scouting dual gate, and getting a bunker early (for your marines to go in) while you tech banshe's fast, dont over do the banshe's though, just like 2 or 3 to stop it , and harass worker. then transition into a normal army.

to stop void ray rush, depends on the strat you choose to do against toss. if you do the standard marine/rader/ghost/medivacs it will be harder to stop it.. because the void ray will hold you in your base for quite some time when all you have is marines, this might cause you to overproduce marines also to fight it, so make sure to get a bunker in your base, incase there is a zealot surprise included after a bit of ray harass

the best unit against the void ray is the viking , but only if you micro the viking, dont go and attack the void ray expecting to win, abuse the fact that you have more range than the voidray . the void ray is also very slow, so when microing vikings against voids do a Hit/Retreat technique, once you do this correctly, it stops the void rays from being able to charge and you will find that even 3 vikings can hold off like 5 void rays :p

anyway my favourite strat is , PURE terran mech , Thors/Tanks/Hellions/Dropships/Turrets . your army might be slow and almost immobile, but you make up for it with incredible damage bursts and tanking capabilities.

IME, the only thing that kills Zealot mass is Reaper rush. Nothing else.

You forget roaches are a very good counter for them. And mass marines can take care of zealots if they dont have charge

And my fav strat is dishing out DTs early game. It completely rapes armies, and perfect for just sneaking in a base and raping there economy and main structures.

One time I went into a complete fortified base, snuck in 3 DTs, and killed all there pylons, making there base literally offline, then I killed his income/workers, Nexus then everything else.

I'm thinking countering continued Zealot spam with Protoss - not Terran.
With the latter mass Marines should do fine :)

The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
