Hi I am relativly a noob to triggering but I learn fast.

I have alot of creative ideas but now i have to get them to work. Well right now i am working on a dota style map. Can someone please help me with a few triggers. First i dont get how they give bounty off the creeps like in dota when u kill a scourge ghoul it say 53 in yellow and u just got that gold, i have added the units to have a bounty awarded but it still doesnt work any help please. Now with the creeps spawning trigger. There pathing gets messed up. I order them to a certain area then when they get there its triggered for them to go to another area like on a path but somehow sometimes they run back randomly and i dont understand why I put Gaurd return and gaurd distance to 0 to see if that work help but it doesnt. Also when the creeps spawn and are triggered to move it also moves the heroes even though its conditioned that only to move reds(computers) units.
Also i have a rain trigger set up like this
Events - Player 3 types a message containing -rain as an exact match
Actions - Create at (Entire map) the whether effect Ashenvale rain(Heavy)
Why doesnt it work ?
Finally how do i make a hero revival timer thingy that is based on the levels like dotas.

Sorry for all my questions I sincerely thank anyone who aids me in this map project :)

for the rain you have to enable it

enable (last created weather effect)

i think

Ok first, the terminology. You are making an AoS style map, not a dota map.

Next, bounty can be turned on via I believe the gameplay constants. Do a search for bounty and you can find exact steps.

Creep Spawn - if they are the neutral creeps, you can alleviate the situation by setting "can retreat" to no. I also believe there's a maximum range they can run before they'll run back, also a topic you can search on. If these are not the neutrals, or it still persists, you can use region waypoints to prod the units into pursuing their correct direction. Also, in my experience, when they reach their destination, they like to return to their origin, also a good reason to use waypoints.

Not sure on the rain, but you can do weather effects in regions, and it probably is tweakable via a trigger. Set the region for entire map. Also - a note - people have reported severe FPS slowdown when my map used to use a global rain effect, so you may want to leave out the entire map effect.

Revival can be done in a bunch of ways. I personally use a variable that decrements on an every 1s trigger and keep an array of revive times, but that's just how I do it.

Yes an AoS style map sorry i didnt know the name heh

And they are not neutral they are owned by the computers of each team like the scourge or sentinel team. The two team have one computer at the top and its them that own the units

to get bounty for creeps:
trigger:
event: map initializing
action: player: turn player flag on / off

i hope i could help u...

oh yeah sry for double post but are there any map makers clans on wc3?

Guys just a heads up I am going to be shutting the site down soon. I am just waiting on the NUON people to decide whether they want to transfer forum data and keep the discord. My email is [email protected] for anyone that wants to keep in touch and I have a facebook too. I will make an official post later. Love you guys and will miss everyone!

Oh no - please don't lose the Nuon content

  • The Helper The Helper:
Someone email AtariAge and see if they want me to transfer the forum data over to it
  • Ghan Ghan:
Could probably keep NUON stuff around here if we wanted.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Hmm what to do about the World Editor site though?
  • Stephen Stephen:
I'd rather personally just own a backup of the Nuon data than see it go to AtariAge honestly. If it gets enshittified as per usual, or if some of the "regular" Jaguar folks get there, it's not gonna be fun
  • The Helper The Helper:
There will be a github of the forum data so the NUON Forum Data I guess would be available there
  • The Helper The Helper:
World Editor is technically Ryoko stuff not mine you guys can keep that I am not in that even
  • jonas jonas:
:( end of an era :(
  • The Helper The Helper:
Dont think of it as an end jonas - think of it as a beginning, because really my friend that is what it is.
  • A Andyoyo:
Thank you for the hard work over the years. It did not go unnoticed.
