i dont know. how could i tell?and why would i get a firewall?

if i do, what i got to do to get rid of them, also the person in open tech suppeort said that windows xp(which is what i have) has a firewall problem

Well a firewall is hardware or software that acts as a shield between your computer and other computer. A firewall can be set to only allow communications in certain ports. Here is information on what ports need to be open.

If you are on a network in an office or at home it is possible you are behind a firewall then you might not know about it but normally when you are behind one you know about it.

If you need additional help try to provide some more details about your problem and some information about your system like your Operating System and how you connect to the internet.

I have the same problem as he does I am currently behind a linksys router I have turned off my winXP firewall, I made myself a DMZ host on my router which should turn off any filtering that it does and allow anyone to connect to me on any open ports, but for some reason a few minutes after i connect to battle net I get disconnected not only from Bnet but from my router as well.

yes my problem was solved i had to add a bunch of ports...............ty for the help

but to add all those ports i had to enable internet sharing......and some message poped up saying that this could be bad. so am i at more risks from hackers or viruses?
