I've fixed up the first village terrain and I've got the outline of some other places finished, I'm not quite finished with the details of the swamp, forest, ect... how is it so far?

Are you looking for praise or constructive critism?

PRAISE:-
Great terrain. Forest done VERY WELL and actually kind of realistic. Very impressive. The standard of the paths and villages is also great.

CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISM:-
OK. this is good, but could use improvement. I dislike the flame traps coming off the fountains at the 1st town (try a cinematic special effect that doesnt look so...awkward by the fountains). Maybe I just cant see them, but if you dont already have some, i advise getting some birds around the place. Also, i dont think the ancient of wind blends very well, but maybe your not finished around there.

TO CONCLUDE:-
I think the terrain as a whole kicks butt! Keep at it! apart from those few things i mentioned i think its great. btw, i had to be alot harsher with my critism than i needed to be, cause there wasnt much to critisize!

Terrain: Use more variation in textures, and also in height (noise, smooth etc.)

Doodads: Add a lot more variated environmental doodads in the forest especially, but generally increase the number of them - don't only use flowers

Concerns:

* Remember pathing, especially in the forest
* Again, in this version there are still villages on the road

Hints/Tips:
* A good source of town doodads is the cityscape props section
* The Bush doodad is great for making things look natural
* Water is one of the most beautiful things to look at, and is very easily made more pretty by doodads from the 'Water' category

That's all for now...

ok..im gonna tell u the truth...

the Buildings R SO BAD...use logic when placing em....the building placement is horrible...

Forests...uhmm ...u really need to add more than blight, rain, and trees...

And wow....whats the place with rocks suppose to be ? a desert?..with a sacrificing pit?...I would put the sacrificing pit in the forest...but SMALLER...

well I didn't want to be mean but im trying to help u by telling u everything thats wrong so u fix it ;) ok :D

.....The buildings are bad fix em >.>

What I meant (typo) was that the village houses are on the road.

He is giving constructive crititism. If it is bad to him then he should say so.

I'm with panda - if someone asks for their map to be evaluated and it's bad, tell them HOW TO FIX IT. I made this mistake evaluating bad melee maps on mapsnMods, and now I have 3-4 dowraters on every one of my maps. Nowadays I give ways to improve, and people appreciate that.

ok a few tips

in the swamp area (its a swamp not a forest guys) you should make it so thers water and stuff, with some doodads to look like stuff in the water. do this by making the whole area shallow water, then use the apply height to lower the terrain until the water is above it, and jus make it random. also i reccomend using the noise to make it all look more realistic, then smoothing it a little after so it isnt too lumpy. also give the houses more personality, like front yards, back yards, or putting in doodads so each one is a t least a little different.

Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

Weekend went by too fast. Next weekend I am going to try to do a nature thing - buddy of mine lives by the Colorado river and has some kayaks and invited me to do some kayaking from a place he knows to get on the river.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    That sounds like an adventure.

  • Ghan Ghan:
The first gate is stopping all the bots that don't execute javascript.
  • Ghan Ghan:
That's the main thing with Anubis - no Javascript, no site. Typically you can still get the site to load without Javascript.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I remember the whole javascript thing, question - how many real people disable that?
  • The Helper The Helper:
Hell I guess I could go back on the stats to know that - we probably capture that and we know the before and after
  • Ghan Ghan:
Real users can't really disable Javascript anymore these days.
  • Ghan Ghan:
The internet is broken without it.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Bot readable, not human usable.
  • The Helper The Helper:
