Ok, your latest update is the best so far but you still have some issues.

Try running at first, and pressing down to spin dash about a second before the first loop thing. You end up sticking to the ground instead of spurting off into the air. Sometimes. It's hard to make it consistent.

Not the only problem.

At the new first looping thing (that ends on down), when we hold right key (to run faster) we get projected out of nowhere at a angle of ~+-15° (of perpendicular of loop) or more. We can't go down, simply.

Edit : nice game :)

It's great, but I swear it would be so much better if Sonic could go faster, like pressing down and making him roll up doubles his speed?

Anyhow, it's really coming along, great job ;).

LOL I found a glitch!
When your going down the loop that goes straight down, go into a ball and just want, don't do anything just watch ;)

-Edit-
NVM I could only do it once so far

Shit Chocobo I don't know how you keep finding these bugs that I can never seem to recreate! (And as a result not being able to fix, since I don't know what exactly is happening). :)

Yeah both the charge & the roll aren't final. They can be easily edited but first I want to finish a few other things (what I mentioned on msn). Also is Sonic's running speed and/or acceleration too slow?

Gotta admit you got me curious. :p

See last post for latest.

omg.... that was so inconvienent! Copy paste the link jeez, is it that hard!

Looks ok, but not much like original sonic at all. I dont know, its close.

Its to hard to stop and the momentum is off

Double tapping down should do a charge.... If i remember right, thats how you used to do it?

But it has been like, what, 8 years? lol

LOL, when I tried testing a blank level, I couldn't get out of the test ><
Its nice how you did the saving and stuff though.

WOW, the newest version is a ton better!!

The only thing I can really see wrong with it, would be how fast his running acceleration is. It starts out a little bit too fast, and reaches its peaktoo early.

In Sonic 2, if you stop in between two of those rolly hills, it's hard to get back over the hill, because he doesn't walk fast enough/speed up fast enough to get past it. I always had to charge up, or jump onto the top of the hill to get past. I don't think you slow down fast enough in the ball form either. I was speeding up while going up a hill.

Here's a cheat I found:
if you push up and down really fast, he starts to headbang.

Yeah the main problem with that version is limitations due to varying fps and occasional failed hittests. So tweaking the slowdown, top speed, and acceleration sometimes had awkward effects.

HOWEVER, the project is currently being recoded in AS3 with classes, and the new Flash engine for AS3 runs a lot faster and solves our problems. :)

So once I finish recoding everything (as of now only sonic has become a class) I will attempt to perfect the physics. :)

Hah.

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
