Flying Planes

OK, I give up.

I was never meant to fly a plane in BF1942.

Any websites/hints/etc you guys can provide to help me fly a plane better would be greatly appreciated.

I can get them off the ground, but then I slam into a river/hill/ground within a few minutes.

(If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize, couldn't think of where else to post it.)

Btw, I use combination of keyboard and mouse to fly. Mouse to fire, keyboard to fly.

well i can't say i am the hottest pilot in the air , but i use that combo also . and i noticed that with the mouse you go into over correction alot .
go very slowly at first and then u get the feel of it .
course all those super duper pilots all use joystick

Ah ha...that explains it. Joystick. (And it makes perfect sense) Now must find/buy a joystick, because the planes aspect totally rules.

i personally have bound my q and f keys to nose up and nose down. Makes it so much easier than throwing the mouse all over hte mouspad. Try that and you shouldn't have too much trouble maintaining altitude.

What's really funny is trying the Apache in Desert Combat and using the roll left/right keys and going upside down. That's how you know you're AWESOME.

If you use the mouse and keyboard combo I'd recommend using low mouse sensitivty. At first the planes don't seem to respond when you want to go up or down, and then suddenly you find yourself going straight into the ground. Since I put low sensitivity I haven't had that problem.

You can all keep your rodents for flying, I like my stick... Seriously though, unless playing a few flight sims sounds like fun to you it's not really worth it to get a stick for just 1 game, just my 2 bits.

I use my stick for all my flight sims, the mech games, and driving games since I moved because I've been too lazy to set up my wheel. Guess I'll do it after I mow the lawn and rake the leaves since their above it on the list.
