Freedom- The Memories

Hey guys I just recently made this little poem. Like I say in most of my poems, I'm not really experienced in poetry but lately I seem to be writing a lot of it. This one is called Freedom- The Memories. Enjoy.

Arms be swift thy touch
People struggle, ran like such
Stories be taught thy merry
the past reflected with dreary

Tears drop gleefully thy site
upon a mourn, be known its right
slavery be damned, the demonic shackles
with the bottle of water beginning to rattle

I'm happy, I admit, but not without thy's deception
White men be damned, triggers my reception
the lashing, the bashing, pain be distraught
my mind be dazed at a glance of thought

So now my mother, understand my pain
said the grieving man in the volley of rain
let this lesson lest remain remembered
The day... is the fourth of December.....

The person speaking (Grieving Man) is a former slave who has reunited with his african mother. The first stanza states that the past was dreadful.

The second states the man's anger toward slavery. The third shows imagery of the suffering of slavery. The fourth ends with a statement that means, "remember this day for when I was set free". The day is the fourth of December.

Edit: Here's another one I just wrote as well. I might as well incorperate it as an edit rather than a seperate post. This also reflects the horrors of slavery.

The kindles be blazed
Our homes have been razed
These men take our children
But we are destined to be damned

The scent of the ocean, a peaceful odor
Until a brother nearby gets whipped in the shoulder
He didn't want to go, I understood him on that
But we are destined to be damned

I see my mother from afar
Not taken captives like the others
Unlike those fallen like my fathers
But we were destined to be damned

We were knocked on board the ship
I noticed tears in a brother's eyes
What has god done to our people
But we were destined to be damned
