I'm asking this for a friend:
Platform: Windows 98
Sys specs: No clue, but it's fairly new and it worked before. One day it just blue-screened so he's now trying to reinstall it.
StarCraft installed fine. He is now trying to install Brood War, but when he clicks Install it freezes: "it doesn't do anything, it reads, I can stillm ove mouse, then a few minutes later it freezes"
" and it won't copy" (he can't copy the files from CD to HDD, I think it freezes too).
It doesn't appear to be a drive issue, he's tried using both DVD and CD burner to read. and the CD is not dead, because that's what he thought at first so he borrowed the CD from someone else.
The blue screen is the "Please insert blablabla CD," and it still pops up every once in a while. note that he is NOT trying to pop the disc back out. Very puzzling!
