freezes again :(

- AMD Athlon 1000 t-bird
- VIA KT133 mobo
- 512 mb ram
- Windows ME
- Geforce 2 MX-400
- Road RUnner cable

Hey guys, my computer froze 24/7. Well, i thought i found the problem when i saw that the fan on my geforce wasnt working. Well i put on my good old voodoo3 2000 pci and it still freezes. Do you think the voodoo3 is getting overheated too? it doesnt even have a fan though. I dunno.. need help thanks
 
do you think it can be windows ME? people tell me to downgrade to win 98, but i have no idea how to downgrade.. i tried to format but it says "dive C: in use by other process".. with only explorer runnin. Ahh
 
ive done that, and updated my video drivers as well, checked irq, temp, i cant even defrag or scan disk because the computer freezes well before it gets done. Do you think it can be sound? my sound is onboard. :(
 
no, this has been happening since the first day i got the computer. i doubt it was shipped witha virus.
 
yes, i have the 4in1, and the cpu temp is around 90 F. But this is at startup in the cmos.
 
I just got my Geforce 3 Ti 200 today and installed it...... still freezes if i dont open up my comp and put my huge fan at its side. so now i know the problem is temperature, its just that when i restart, it says the temp is like 90 degrees F which isnt bad. My graphics card fan is running fine. I dont know what to do now... maybe get another fan for the cpu?
HELP!!
 
I would remove the fan and heatsink off the cpu and check to see if the heatsink is making contact..Did they remove the plastic off .Is there a gap.

    Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
