Saturday I bought Diablo 2 at best buy, and Sunday I played it in
single player (up to Act II), Monday I decided to try out the
Multiplayer because to be quite honest i was getin bored playin vs
monstas alone. The problem started after I finished updating my
original game (v1.00) to 1.09D [it did a auto-update through the
game w/ gargoyle character]. It finished sucessfully updating the
game, asks for the Diablo II Play CD, I put it in there, it waits
for a while and then the CDRW drive quits spinning, and it pops up
with an illeagle opperation, Under details it says the following:
GAME caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:00000009.

Ive tried to email blizzard, tried to re-install using all three install size options
(Single player, Multiplayer, and Full), it still didnt work. Today
I reformated my hard disk, and re-installed Windows 98 SE, hoping
that would fix it - but it still dose not work. If anyone has any
darnest idea what the problem would be please, please help me.
I have a 1.4ghz AMD Athelon K-7, a KT7-133 Mainboard, 128MB
PC-100, and 100MB PC-100/133 RAM (System), a 3Dfx Voodoo 4 4500 AGP
(32MB VRAM), Maxtor 19.7GB Hard Disk, Windows 98 4.10.2222a, Direct
X 8.1, (put it on my software cd which contains all drivers, programs, and utilities that i have - on 1 cd, but thats another story there...)
After reinstalling windows 98 today I have the following software on my computer (incase it could be causing conflicts althought i doubt it i tried removing each one indiv still get error msg.)

Animagic GIF Animator
Diablo II v1.00 <---- cant up to 1.09d because it wont work if do
McAfee Virus Scan 6 + latest dat file (as of this morning)
