geforce 4 driver install error

i have dled the latest driver and then the latest directx, i install the directx first then tried to install the video driver, it gives me an error message says an .INF file that's needed for installation is not found: nv4_disp.inf

i dled the drivers serveral times and same thing happens

system spec:
p3 733MHZ
384 RAM
geforce 4 mx 420
creative soundblaster pci 128

That is a common problem with the new cerified 40.72 driver
for those running windows ME, 98 and 98SE

you have to load the drivers manually as follows

right click on my computer
select properties
click on the device manager tab
select display adapter plus sign
click on (highlight) your video card
hit the properties button
click on the driver tab
click on update driver button
click next button
you may have to click on the have disk button or
(click/select the display a list of all the drivers in a specific location
click on next button
check specify location
click on have disk)
point to the folder your drivers were loaded to (usually the C:/Nvidia folder

and manually load the driver from there by highlighting

if at any time during the install it says a file you are loading is older than the version you are running select do not replace this version (in other words keep the newer version you have)
