Getting BF1942 back in registry after reload of Windows

I recently formated my "C" drive and reloaded WinXP. I keep my BF1942 files on my "G" drive. Now I can't load patches and updates because they do not see the game directory. Even when I load the update from the game directory.

And yes it is a valid and paid for copy.

Well, its actually very simple.. if just anyone with the game installed, and the registry intact, could export the info you need. But noone really cares to do that, for some reason.. And its just really two simple clicks..

I'm just too stubborn to reload

I'm looking at a computer I loaded the game on to see the registry entries on it. But it is WinME where my computer is WinXP. I'll probably just break down and delete the game and reload. I only lose my set up, no saved games.

I gave up and reloaded.

I wanted to make sure I could use the new patch whenever it came out. But if you are ever faced with the same problem you can go into your X:\Battlefield 1942\mods\bf1942\settings\profiles directory and save your current profile. Reload the game, and then just copy the profile back into the game files. I didn't notice any change in game play at all.
