Hi all im currently working on a few maps, just wondering if anyone knows a good place to request some models i need done?

Things like the sack carrying dude from golden axe that u kick to get potions from and a few other things.

ta.

Try Http://www.wc3sear.ch they also have a request forum if you cannot find a model you are looking for.

The models DB they have is quite extensive.. take the time to look around in there before making requests... or prepare for the flaming as they link you the model LOL.

Enjoy!

Yeh i go there alot and have been through all of the models many times over :) I could probably get away with a peon carrying a gold sac really

Yeah I read about that attachment point thing. I haven't tried it myself as it requires downloading three specific pieces of software, but may at some point. Too many other things to do though.

Usually the only time I think you'll ever get a custom model out of someone is if you announce your project and collect a team for it. I know a bunch of the other warcraft map sites have places for this, but you'll need to have a really strong vision and be able to convince people to join the cause (good luck).

The other way would to be to do the tides of blood and work backwards. After your map gains some notoriety, you may attract the attention of some modellers/skinners who will do the model for you. Don't get carried away though. These days it seems tob is more about looking better than it plays.

Another option would be to find a model that is in the general shape of what you're looking for and reskin it (with the author's permit). There's some goblin models on the war3search that could perhaps be reskinned into that annoying little runt.

this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.

One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

Weekend went by too fast. Next weekend I am going to try to do a nature thing - buddy of mine lives by the Colorado river and has some kayaks and invited me to do some kayaking from a place he knows to get on the river.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    That sounds like an adventure.
