hacking bios password

hey ppl i need access to a box with a bios password on it .
i can kill the cmos but i rather not go that way .
this is an odd box i allready tried to locate the battery but none is there ! how odd .

i have no manual so i cannot switch some jumpers .
the bios in question is a phoenix one .
any tools or passwords are handy .
the company in question where i got the old box from refuses to give me the password since they use the old password on their new systems duh !! how is that for security ? using the same password for 5 years !
i mean this bios is dated 1996 hehe
if someone can help thanks in advance .

or search for "BIOS password recovery" and you should find stuff

some BIOS have a master password (makes tech support easier)

most other ones can be detected (not always the actual password, but programs can find an equivalent one that will also work)

i know it sounds funny but i have an old machine and it accepts phoenix lol

yes, sounds funny, but i heard too, that it can work.

here are the ways I found:

1: There should be a jumper on the motherboard for "Clear CMOS"

2: To clear your BIOS in a computer-session, start in DOS-Mode (not in a DOS-BOX) and type in:

C:\windows\command\debug
-O 70 FF
-O 71 17
Q

On the next restart your BIOS should be cleared (and the password too). This way worx on older systems.

3: The battery is perhaps located under the mousepad of your laptop.

was looking a little bit more and found a german page that gave me this general passes:

and now I am trying a little bit more to find infos ...

i tried about 30 bios password crackers and cmos killers
nothing
this bios has bin modificated by the company big time .

but ofcourse i am to proud for that hehe.
my ego prevents such actions .
my ego rather wants to spend another 24 hours on cracking it then do a 1 hour drive to the company hehe.
see now it is a matter of honor !
and within a week i predict that i will post something like this :"access to the box yeah ! ............after bringing in the machine to the company after a few zillion useless attempts"

I have a CMOS killer that I wrote for DeVry, it's probably the same as most the ones out there already. The reason you don't see a battery is probably because it runs off of a capacitor, the problem with a capacitor instead of a battery is that after awhile of being shut off (generally a week+), the capacitor loses its charge. Also, you can find the motherboard manufacturer via the BIOS id tag and look up the motherboard manual online.

well problem is fixed . magic's proggy worked just fine .
thank god the bios is super simple . was afraid if i killed the cmos i would end up a shitload of configuring .
the bios itself is fun
first time i can re program my bios saying :"this wargy's box , project404" hehe i know the asus blackboard supports that stuff heheeh
