What about a minimum range (test the spell on the hero itself)?
What about a model, which has a spell animation fitting to the haul off and the strike?

That whole Escape thing is far too complex for me.

yeah most likely because there wasn't a message in the map to the player to do such a thing. i'm guessing someone who poked their head into the triggers would have noticed but if they just want to see what the spell does, and THEN if they're impressed check out the code...then they're going to run into the same problem that he did.
