And I think you can. I edited it, and used the compile thing. It threw errors.

You can't and I believe Blizzard said that they wouldn't implement straight coding into the editor. That "Script Test" is just that, to test script. It doesn't modify any map code, only saves it as a .galaxy file which can be imported and used (some how).

How can this be used? The only thing I've ever used it for is to see region id's. And even then, it could be more easily done in GUI's raw view.

With the "power" GUI has, scripting is "obsolete". Then again, with the power of the Data Editor, triggers in itself are almost obsolete...

Scripting will never be obsolete. Some people will never use GUI.
Personally, I'd rather type it all by hand, rather than click through some terrible dialogs.

I hate all programming languages. ALL OF THEM.

I giggled a bit when I saw this.

Anyway, I quite like what Blizz has done with GUI.

And I don't like what they've done with GUI. GUI was terrible in WC3, and its terrible in SC2.

No, no it isn't. The GUI in Sc2 converts to full Galaxy, except for variables, instead of pseudo-code now... And, you get to define local variables, as well as use just about every function. The only I haven't seen transfer over is GetHeroXP...

Of course it will always be inferior, but in no way is it horrible. It is meant for those who CANNOT code, so stop whining about something that has been implemented correctly...

I'm not whining. I'm simply stating my opinion on the matter.
And it wasn't implemented correctly. The entire trigger editor is poorly implemented.

Until I can code an entire map in Galaxy, no data editor beyond Object Data, I won't be happy.
