Has this one been answered? Triggered use of abilities.

Hello... I'm (MSR)Peace, new to the warcraft map editing scene... But an old SC vet. ^.^ Nice place.

Anyway, I've run into a problem and it seems like a small deal but for the life of me, I can't figure it out or find a post for it.. I've searched for hours.

Anyway, is it possible/how does one go about using triggers to initiate a units ability... AKA "Joe Unit, use this ability targeting this location cuz the trigger told you to"

I feel like such a nub again :-<

Use the action " Unit - Order <unit> to <cast whatever ability>". Even if its a custom ability, just order it to cast the ability its based off of.

EDIT: Ahh crap I posted too late.

Trigger you are looking for is: here

The trigger is something like this:

Event: Whatever you want... you decide
Condition:
Action: Unit - Order JoeUnit to Human Paladin - Holy Light (TARGET)

JoeUnit = Either be a variable or you could just select him on the map by clicking the [ Select Unit ] button in the trigger.

Human Paladin - Holy Light = is where you put the ability that your ability is BASED off of. For example, if your ability was based off of Summon Water Elemental but you edited it to summon sheep or something. The ability it was based off of would be Human Archmage - Summon Water Elemental.

(TARGET) is where you would choose where it would target. Just look under the drop down menu for many options in this field.
