I've recently built a new pc with the following specs:
ABIT Kd7A board
1 Gig DDR
SBLive
ATI Radeon 8500LE AGP 128Meg
For some reason whenever I try to run BF1942 it starts fine, but when it's in the game I get all sorts of odd problems with the graphics. ie. sometimes I'll zoom in and instead of showing crosshairs it'll show crosshairs and white or gray, nothing else. Also, when in a vehicle the gun menu at the lower right'll have a white background instead of a transparent one. The explosions from artillery and such'll be big white explosions instead of a real explosion. I have no idea what's causing this.
The other problem is that I routinely crash to desktop while playing. Sometimes I can play for a while, sometimes it's for less than a minute, but eventually the game'll just go kaput. It happens more frequently when I hit escape to exit the current game to find a new one.
I've updated all my chipset drivers, graphics drivers, DirectX, the game itself, and haven't gotten anything to work. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Jason
