Help me i need help in starcraft soooo much

I am a new member and i want to ask you people what sould i do in a situation like this one.
I just got a starcraft game from my friend who started hating it and i started loving it. So he gave me the CD and the CD-key. It works in single player mode but when i go on battle.net it says:

Unable to locate your version of StarCraft. Please reinstall and try again.

Something like that. Well i reinstalled it a hundred times and now i am very angry and do not know what to do. plz help me. My MSN is: [email protected]Unable to locate your version of StarCraft. Please reinstall and try again.
 
There are many things one needs to know in order to reply to your post. For starters; Do you have a legit copy of the game? If you don't, don't even bother trying to solve the problem. Second question is; Are you sure your friend hasn't shared his CD-key with other people, or made a copy for himself to play with?

If you do have the original game, and you're the only one playing with that specific CD-key, download the current patch manually from http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=msc0391p

If you still have problems, ask again...
 
Run a virus checker on your computer - here is a free online one

If you find a virus and it gets cleaned, reinstall the game and try again. As Cloudberry said, if you have any additional questions ask them. Good Luck!

    this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.

    One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs

    Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.

    Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.

    Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
