Help with Pictures

I've got me a problem! (Sorry if this is in the wrong place, I didn't know where else to put it... Well... Hmm, can this be tech help? I don't really think so, but oh well )

I was watching a movie when I saw a funny scene, and wanted to get a picture of it. I paused the movie, and pressed Print Screen, like you would with a WC screenshot (minus the pausing part ) Then I opened Paint, the only real image editing program, other then Irfanview, which I don't have a lot of experience in anyway, that I have on my comp) and pasted it.

Here's the problem. Everytime I paste the image, save it, and then let the movie run, the movie runs in the Paint image, too!

I tried closing the movie without unpausing it, but I just get a blank screen in the Paint program.

BTW: The movie thing I'm using is InterActual Player (no idea what version, or anything)

So. My question(s) to you are:

• Can I do this without having do download a whole other program specified for it?
• If so, how? (Duh, had to see that as my follow up )
• If there is no way, without another program, what is that program, where can I find it, etc. etc.?

FWIW, IView has a "paste" too.
It also comes with its own screen capture feature (press C to get there).

Tried it, but the same thing happened. (Thanks for the advise, though I have to tinker with that thing someday...)

Windows Media Player? Where did you get that from, that's not the program running the movie...

Yeah, I know there's interaction, that's why I tried to save it and then close the movie I hoped it would just keep it, but apparently, it's not that easy -.- Damn you confusing bastards!

Try capturing the image you want and closing Paint after saving the image as a jpeg before you play the movie.

Well, he did have one point. I have Adobe too, but I haven't tried (at all) to use this.

What Adobe do you have? Adobe is a company.

Illustrator, I believe, is what sq was talking about. Photoshop rocks, too. It's expensive, though.

You can always use old versions of it, however. I use Photoshop 5.5, and it does everything I need it to.

Don't see why not. Just pause it, hit print screen, save it to a .jpg the way you normally would, then keep playing it.

That's what I did before, hence why I am having a problem, buddy

You can use a digital camera. It's inefficient, but if you have one handy, it works much better than any "Prnt Scrn" I know of

This is because the data that is sent to the clipboard is not an actual screen grab, it's movie data when you do it via print screen on a movie. In being that almost anything Microsoft is compatible with itself, it's capable of playing the damned thing right in mspaint.

You need a piece of software capable of doing actual screen scrapes. Most of them that advertise this functionality can though.

edit: the name of the software I used to use for this is called SnagIt, if that helps any
