Hero leveling problems

All right I've got this map that I've been working on. Everything was working just fine but now for some reason none of my heroes can get above level 5. I thought that it might just be the editor but I went into the game through W3 and I still couldn't get past level 5. Could anyone help me?

this is why!

You may not have enogh skills for the hero example. if u only had 1 skill for your hero and that skill could only get to level 3 then your hero could only get to level 3. So the number of skills you have is the number of levels your hero can get to. so if u had 3 skills that can get to level 3 that means your hero can get to level 9 plus that main skill which has 1 level which makes your hero able to grow another level.

Yes, but I have four skills that can get to level 3 and one that can get to level 1 (a main skill that you can get at level 6). For all of my heroes. They still won't go past level five no matter how many creeps I kill.

Killing Creeps only goes so far...

Menu: Advanced / Gameplay constants,
check "use custom",
find "Hero XP - Creep reduction table".

Normally, it says: " 80, 70, 60, 50, 0".
I'd suggest changing it to: " 80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 ".

Important is the very last number.
Never put 0 there. Put 10 (or something).
