hey all, in random?

okay i have searched through the tutorials and topics for something that will work for -random, okay sort of like dota using the same principle

ok so i have a tavern and if someone types "-random" well u guys know

i have tried using a few things but i cant grasp the right code, any sudjestions??

Here's what you do to copy the dota -random function.

First, make a variable of type Integer.

In your map initialization trigger, add the action Set Variable, and set your newly created integer to Math - Random Number.

Make the range of the random number the number of heroes available and then associate each hero type with one number within that range.

Whenever someone types -random, find out what value the Integer has, give them the hero associated with that number, and then (this is important) reset your integer with Math - Random Number again.

yeah thx good idea i get how its done now but.... how do i set a hero under a variable? like

randomhero[1]=palidan

and then for the random thing do like create: randomhero[random integer between 1 and 25]

is that what u mean?

Umm...did you even look? It's in the "General" actions titled "Set Variable".

yeah i did look... and i do know how to set a variable phift

what i want to do is like

randomhero[1]=palidin

and then when they type -random the code will be like unit create randomhero[random integer between 1 & 15] blah blah blah anyway, how do u acctually set a variable to a unit or hero, plz tell me lol

You need to make the variable a unit-type variable in the Variable Editor. Make the variable an array also and set it to however many heroes you have.

The variable should be of type "Unit-type".
Then "set variable" and you get the entire list of units.
