So I was going to look for a program to do some skinning and it seems the recommended program is Photoshop right? Well the latest one which is Photoshop CS is $640ish without a prior version of Photoshop. I must be out of the loop because I had no idea it was that expensive. I could spend my money on things better than that...like a new video card. (Err...nevermind) Anyway is there a cheaper program to do blps on?:rolleyes:
 
sats: we (the mods) can get into trouble if you start saying things like that, please only do that sort of thing in a private message.

You could try mucking around with microsoft paint, and use irfanview to convert the pics into tga format (irfanview link is in faq).

alternatives for 3D modeling...

MilkShape 3D, its about $20
-not great but decent, worked awesome with Half Life.

Rhinoceros NURBs, about $900, but there is a free trial
-this is very good but a lil more dough

i hope that is not something you guys need to edit out :D.
you still need an MDX converter and the skills to know what you are doing.
 
the reason we need 3dmax is so we can use the war3 art tools plugin supplied to us by blizzard.
 
Has anyone heard of Gmax, its supposed to be a shareware of 3d max v.4 but doesn't come with a rendering engine, i'm gonna give it a try with the wc3 plugins and see what happens.


Well I tested it and it doesn't read any of the plugins.
