Home-made Aura's, how-to?

I want to make an aura, but it's not like one of the standard blizz aura's. I could check for units entering within a curtain range of the unit with the aura, but how would I then check when units Leave the aura area?

Ps: also, what is the easiest way to block a unit from recieving orders? sometimes I want a unit to just stop doing anything, then I just pauze him? But what if I want him to continue moving, but not get any orders? Check for orders then re-order to stop?

Make an aura with a buff. Then make a trigger:

event: peridic event "every 0.01 sec"
cond: nothing
action: pick every unit in playable map...
if picked unit has buff of type "yourbuff" then action

Easy! I tryed to make an aura that gives the units in the aura shadow meld with this trigger. It worked but when the unit with the aura ability used shadow meld, it cancelled the units in the auras shadow meld...


Try it and see! It should work!

Erm, i wouldn't use such a short time interval. It could easily cause lots of lag if you have a lot of units on the map.

Anaxyd: I know how you could do what you are trying/or tried to do. It is a bit hard to understand and requires some jass knowledge, so i would suggest you contaction me in my clans irc channel (no irc client required) and ask me about it... It is too difficult for me to write it here, it would take like 1 A4 page to write down and you would probably mess it up somewhere (no offence intended)...

Actuly putting it here would be easyer, he can copy and paste JASS triggers directly into the map .
