Hooking functions.

Is there a way to get at the base script code for a map? (Text format) Would like to hook triggers to functions and can't figure out another way to do it aside from editing the script directly.

What do you mean with "base code script" of a map?

Is the starting code there globals are declared and starting positions and such or is it all functions in blizzard.j and common.j?

I dont realy understand the question or what you want to do...

Converted to JASS

When the map is compiled, all of the code from the editor is translated into JASS for a script. I want to get at that script and see if I can edit the BASE functions (such as standard receiving damage triggers).

Ok..let's try this again.

I am trying to make an ability which buffs a character and absorbs damage the buffed character takes. In order to do this..I need to hook to a function which applies damage to a character. How do I do this? The only way I can see is to go edit the script directly and find the standard damage function which applies damage to a character and hook it in manually.

Well, there is one, obviously. But, no trigger ever could "change" it...
