Yeah, watching some of the battle reports, they micro like demons. WTF? How can I learn how to? And ultimately, others who read this. (OK Maybe not. I don't want anyone else learning meh secret moves >=O)

This is like asking "how can I learn to beat someone down on the streets using just my hands and a belt?"

Practice and lots of it. Sorry, there's no easy 7 Easy Steps to Success process you can follow here. If that were the case, you wouldn't get things like professional SC/WC tournaments. The victor is usually the one who can micro the best. That and good old common sense. And those people who win tournaments practice. Literally. I'm Korean, and as one, I can very accurately say that pro SC players over in S. Korea practice the game as much as an any athlete would practice their sport.

Hmm. Why thumb? I can put my pinky on it and hit all of the keys XD

I guess I'll just have to micro practice :(

actually the micro in the battle reports wasn't that good.

See some old Lucifer or Grubby games. Now, that's micro.

Most reports of actions per minute and whatnot are from individuals slamming on action like 15 times, non stop.

Set up control groups like a beast so you have melee/range/casters split as well as each hero unit accessible. (F-keys already do that in war3 but its good to have things split up).

watch replays of warcraft or starcraft games and learn what people do
then you'll be able to figure out your plan a lot quicker, leaving you to focus more on battle
micro arena's a really tough game when the enemy mirrors your army, you'd have to micro your heart out sometimes:D

my clan master Ats with me and her ud's/hu's like 1500 to 200, and we're 10-2
she randoms and got orc twice =/, but basically she knows exactly what to do, so she doesn't waste time changing her plan

i actually rarely micro in wc3. unless im doing bigger groups then 12 i usually just stack them up in groups, which is why i lose a lot. In a custom game, microing probably wont be that big of a deal. You wont need to micro if you focus on one unit creation during a game. which is why people specialize. its easier to micro.

Its easier to micro 12 headhunters then
2 headhunters a grunt, 2 taurens 3 shamans 2 witch doctors and 2 wind riders.

WC isn't micro friendly IMHO. All that buggy turning around (when u order a ranger to move back it backs up then turns which takes 2 seconds too many) ,Non instant range attacks (units take .20 seconds to aim before firing Starcraft units do that in .10 seconds)

Well, either way, micro can't get you that far unless the opponent is a complete idiot. You shloud try to have an advantage in the army, or where the battle is held. For example if you have small army, an open field battle is the worst choice. Try to make his army go through obsitcles and scatter, get to higher ground. The "baisik" micro is just you, moving your forces back, when you see that the opponent is starting focus fire, and finishing off your opponents with minor focus fire. When you do that good enough start combining strategy and micro.

The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
