How come there is no checking your old posts, reading erased threads, etc.?

Just a question: how do we check out those stuff in this forum?

Like you can't remember what post you just reply to, and you want to edit it. And you forgot what topic the thread is and you don't know what to do?

I was wondering if thehelper.net can have this option like Yahoo! Mail, which it can check out your old mails, see your already deleted mails, or sort them out, and stuff.

It could help out a lot of people (mostly beginners)if thehelper.net has these features. :D

Or something like: when clicking on your name with your post beside it, you can see your posts and threads by clicking on "find all posts with <name>/threads started by <name>". And finding your name is hard! How do "one" fix it?

subscribe to a thread, and you'll receive updates on threads you've spoken in or subcribed too (to check subcribed threads go to user cp and they will be just above your received rep)

But how do you subscribe it? I mean like, a link that can take you to a subscribed post.

But the true question remains: Where's the "reading deleted posts" feature?

theres no reading deleted posts, a post or thread is deleted for a reason, if your post got deleted you got into trouble, and if you delete your own post you shoulda thought twice about that (you can, in user cp under edit options, scroll down till it talks about subscribing, then decide if you want to subscribe, subscribe with emails daily or weekly, or no subscription, id suggest subscribe with no email notification, too many emails!

Or this...

How about this:

When clicking on your name with your post beside it, you can see your posts and threads by clicking on "find all posts with <name>/threads started by <name>". And finding your name is hard! How do "one" fix it?

I thought those "subscriptions" meant advertisement or something

i did that when i first got here, before i discovered what i just said to you, using subscriptions, if you set in options, that you want to subscribe, any thread you post in will be added to your subscriptions, which i mentioned early you can find simply by clicking on "user cp"

if you mean you want to find ONE single post you've posted before, then i dont know what to tell you.. spend the 10 minutes to go through the few posts in every thread you've posted in..?

Edit: Please dont double post, you should know that from reading the forum rules, on another note! subscription will inform you if anyone else has posted in the thread

No, I didn't mean that. All I was saying is that you want to edit your post, but you forgot your post's title, the thread's name...all those stuff is what I meant.
It could be easy enough if they can add the "find all your post/threads" in the user cp place. You know what I'm saying, don't you? It's time consuming. :(

Thanks for the subscription info, I need that and this: :banghead: .

Edit: I know that, I just figure you would answer quickly, so....

You can click on your name in any of your posts, and use "find all posts by".

Or use the "Quick links", go to "My Profile", and use the "find all posts" link there.

Or do a forum search. With your name for example.

  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
