How do u clean a CD?

my cd is reeeeeeeeeeealy dirty on the bottom!!!!! how do i clean it???

I just pour water on them.

First, take the CD Rom out of the drive, examine it carefully for any deep scratches, warps or smudges. Make sure there are no glaring defects. Then, with a soft dry cloth, clean your CD from the inside to the outside ring. Do not go in a circular motion, go in a straight line from the inside out

Its best to use special paper that it designed to not scratch (usually tissue designed to clean the lens on eyeglasses or microscopes)

although CDs can handle a certain amount of scratches before they stop working, so its not a HUGE deal

Rapmaster, my technique is working fine for me. How could a weak stream of water possibly damage the surface of a CD ?

well as long as you dry it off-- but in order to dry is you are probably wiping it down anyway, right?

Replace the term cloth with Cotton cloth and you are correct.

using a non cotton item could scratch the cd.

I use a microfibre cloth. There are special CD-cleaner kits, which can repair small scratches.

I just nick microscope lens cleaning cloths from work when I need to clean mine.....

You can even purchase kits that include scratch repair paste.

When I first saw the kit on our shelves, I was skeptical. But, it did repair a few older CD's I had lying around.

If you use any liquid to clean the disc, make certain that it is alchohol free (save that for drinks) and that you use fluids sparingly.

Follow Rapmasters method of cleaning the disc, and things will be right as rain.

i use tooth paste and water, after that i dry it off using the fan
