how do u protect maps with Wc3 Map Optimizer

how do u protect maps with Wc3 v.2.3 Map Optimizer please tell me i need 2 no

err, I'm yet to use a map protector that wasn't pretty self-explanatory (or didn't come with brief instructions).

you load a map, hit the "map protect" button, and you get a protected map.

unless there are some specific issues with this particular version of this particular program that I am not aware of.........

This is the new program by Vexorian.

What protects the map, is deleting the files only used by WorldEdit, which includes but not limited to, triggers, cameras, region definitions, unit positions.

Note, the map will still open in the editor, but those will all be missing. IF you delete the unit positions for world editor, your map won't even open in the editor.

When I opt maps with that particular program, I check ALL the options except the comment field.

Lastly, the buffer size determines how small your map will be.

The higher the buffer size, the smaller the map.
The higher the buffer size, the more memory WC3 will need to decompress it.

Blizzards favorite is the 4k one, but the 65536 produces much smaller maps.

so wait if we protect are maps with a program like this not even the owner can access his map with out going thru all that trouble?

Can't access it, period.

But of course, you save it as a different name, never your original copy - right?

oh i understand now so u make copy a and copy b copy a is the original that no one will ever see and copy b is the one u distribute and the one that has a protector

Exactly.

I don't even save my originals names like I do the release version, I call them 004,005,006 etc for working copies.

Then you protect it, and upload it.
