Im new at editing, How can I change the characters dress or looks?

This is more complicated then how it looks my friend, :). This would be called skinning, or modeling, modeling well your stuck there i don't even know how to do it, well i know some people use milkshape, but after that i dunno how it works. Skinning can be done farely simple by using a program givin in the tutorial site(have to pay for it :(), or using photo shop 7.0, or any other program compatable. Skinning alowes you to change the color, or features on the model itself. For more information look into our lovely tutorials. Here is the link for the tutorial home page. http://www.world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net

Skinning is the simple answer, but if you're just looking for some basic changes, then the Art - Tinting and Art - Custom Team Colour fields in the object editor might save you hours of trouble. They let you change the overall colour of a unit, tinting it, say, red, or make the unit appear permanently on a certain team (team armbands or whatever). If you've ever played DotA, then I can safely tell you that no unit in DotA required skinning, but has simply been tinted. If you actually want to change parts of the units, then you're stuck with skinning, but hopefully you won't be getting into modeling. Skinning is changing the unit's 'skin', the outside. It's the armor and face of the Footman. Modeling, however, is the actual head, torso and limbs of the Footman, and is a lot more complicated.

also models sometimes arent made very well and cause maps to crash in some cases and if you dont know how to they are hard to import. skins usually wont crash but are just as hard to imporrt if you dont know how and also both of them increase the size of your map (kb not width and legnth). tinting, scaling, etc. that i havent already metioned is by far easier and doesnt increase your map size by much, if not by any

Well as far as I have had with modeling all I had to do is import, rename path to filename.mdx and save then restart, then goto the Unit and make the Art - Model File be the imported file and save the map and it worked.

Not too hard.

Guys just a heads up I am going to be shutting the site down soon. I am just waiting on the NUON people to decide whether they want to transfer forum data and keep the discord. My email is [email protected] for anyone that wants to keep in touch and I have a facebook too. I will make an official post later. Love you guys and will miss everyone!

Oh no - please don't lose the Nuon content

  • The Helper The Helper:
Someone email AtariAge and see if they want me to transfer the forum data over to it
  • Ghan Ghan:
Could probably keep NUON stuff around here if we wanted.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Hmm what to do about the World Editor site though?
  • Stephen Stephen:
I'd rather personally just own a backup of the Nuon data than see it go to AtariAge honestly. If it gets enshittified as per usual, or if some of the "regular" Jaguar folks get there, it's not gonna be fun
  • The Helper The Helper:
There will be a github of the forum data so the NUON Forum Data I guess would be available there
  • The Helper The Helper:
World Editor is technically Ryoko stuff not mine you guys can keep that I am not in that even
  • jonas jonas:
:( end of an era :(
  • The Helper The Helper:
Dont think of it as an end jonas - think of it as a beginning, because really my friend that is what it is.
  • A Andyoyo:
Thank you for the hard work over the years. It did not go unnoticed.
