How do you put new skins onto a unit?

This may sound silly , but i know how to put new models on, but not the skins. I have downloaded them, put them on (with the endings) and i dont know how to get them on!

yeah sorry bout font, didn't realise, and the tutorial doesn't explain how to put them on a unit, its just how to make it available for putting on.
