How to enable autocasting a custom ability?

I have a hero that summons units that have a custom spell that I wish to activate autocast on creation. How would I go about doing this? I tried using the trigger

Unit - Order (Triggering unit) to <Orc Shaman - Activate Bloodlust>

But they only have the preset original war3 skills.

set the default active ability in the Unit editor on the unit you summon to the one you want. This should work. Problems may come up if the ability was based off of something other than an auto-cast ability. Btw the order strings are what world editor refers to, so if you have a trigger set to cause them to cast an ability say bloodlust they have to have an ability on them with the order string of bloodlust. Maybe they even need to have the spell based off of bloodlust too. I cant remember...

I'm not exactly sure, but I believe if you use the name of the original ability that you based your custom ability off of, it should work the same. So if you based your ability off of bloodlust, using the trigger "activate bloodlust" should activate your new ability. If the unit has multiple abilities based off the same original ability, however, I'm not sure what will happen.

if you have multiple abilities based off the same it will screw up the cooldown, and will cause all sorts of other problems. so there shouldnt be two abilties based off the same anyways. use the object editor where you can, it makes it simpler. Use that first tab in unit editor- Abilities - Default Active Ability

Well my trigger has nothing to do with bloodlust, I was just showing that I didn't know how to add my custom ability. I have already tried adding it to the default active ability. Unless you have to add to default active AND regular ability tab?

you do need to add it to both for it to work properly. it shouldnt need a trigger.. if it doesnt work. then i dont know. make sure to turn your trigger off too once you add the spell to both.

At the moment I'm think you have an ability called 'Summon' which summones 3 'Crabs' with a ability based on bloodlust called 'Rage'.

Events - Units begins the effect of an ability
conditions - ability being cast is equal to Summon
Actions - Create 1 Crab at position of casting unit facing whatever
Unit - Order (last created unit) to <Orc Shaman - Activate Bloodlust>

When you create a custom abilty just use the ability you based it on to refer to it in triggers.
