how to make hero mutate when he gets a specified item?

i made a halo map(im to lazy to explain what halo are(its a xbox game)) and i made some items like shotgun and rocketlauncher and put them on the map.But what i want is to make the hero to mutate(like getting another projectile art,attack speed, damage and range.)PLZ help

There is more than one method 2 do that. I have knowledge of one that I've found works well:

Create more than one form of your hero in the Object Editor. Blizzard has done this with several Human (Arthas) and Undead heros already. When your level 1 hero picks up item, you can replace him with the level 2 mutation which you have already created (with additional speed, strength, scale value, etc.) and so forth. Do you require more in-depth explanation than this, or do you have enough experience to handle the particular execution of what I've said?

i dont need lvl mutation,i want the players to find weapons and mutate to for example spartan(rockets) without gaining lvl..Oh ineed it to have one charge so u turn into im when u use it

And dafishy...yes its halo 2 but teamslayer not a TD
