How to make items change your stats?

I'm Making my first RPG (and i STILL need an inventory system ((got a new idea for one)) and so far its going great except.. i dont want the +30 or +3 or wutever to be next to my stats (from items) so I need something that will not show the +4 or -4 but i still want it to modify my stats (would be more convient to me) if you know how to do this please post here and ill give u soem credits

You need a trigger to add the stats, another to remove the stats... or alot of if/then/else it gets confusing :nuts:

any ideas for what the events/conditionswould be, and how do u ad health and armor?

Event - Unit acquires an item
Condition - HeroHero manipulating item has item of typeBasic Dagger
Action - Hero - Modify Strength of HeroHero manipulating item : Add 3

Event - Unit loses an item
Condition - Item type of Itemitem being manipulated equal to Basic Dagger
Action - Hero - Modify Strength of HeroHero Manipulating Item : Add 3


You can also convert those into If/Then/Else if you have a bunch of weapons or whatever.

The only way to add/decrease Health is to have the tome of health book, and a negative tome of health of the same size and add the health, then add the -health (works as an item as long as its used when acquired and perishable etc...

Armor... eh no dont think its possible without the +2 armor sign etc.
