How to remove the "upkeep" thingy?

how do I remove all that text about upkeep? (look at the pic)

I want it to show something else, like game description or such...

can't find anything in game interface...

also is there a way to stop playing that annoying "DING" sound when your food limit get's to certain value and then a text pops-up showing "Upkeep" in the middle of the screen?

I believe you can change how much food must be used before it changes upkeep under 'Advanced -> Gameplay Constants'.

The DING sound cannot be removed, but you can set your food limit to 300. That'll help, kinda...

You can actually set the Food Levels under Gameplay Constants to a single 0 value rather than say 300, and this will effectively eliminate upkeep.

Yep, all you gotta do is changing the value called "Upkeep - Food Levels" from "50,80,10000" to "10000,10000,10000" ;]

If your doing something with the food. Just set the food to 1, and it wont have a food limit to it. Or if you have NewGen, you can just enable no limits. And then go to the Advance <-- Gameplay Constants <-- Upkeep - Food Levels, and just set it to 0.
