See i just got a new GQ computer 1.5 mgzz 128 RAM . But i had a old HP computer which has more RAM then my new computer and i was wondering can i take some of my old computers RAM and put it in my new computer. I installed 128 MB of RAM on my old computer and i was wondering if i can put it in my new computer. will anytihng happen if i dot it will my new computer get messed up?????? pllz help tanx

mixing ram is not a good idea if they are not matched. some rams you cannot mix

example you cannot mix rambus non ECC with rambus ECC

you cannot mix any rambus ram with non rambus ram

you should not mix PC 2100 2700 with old 100 133 sticks

if you mix 100 and 133 mhz sticks both will run at the slower speed

same with mixing PC2100 with PC2700 all will run at the slower speed

you need to know exactly what ram you have in bot of the computers to see if they are compatible.

My new computers mother board is AMD Athlon (tm) XP 1800+.
So what kind of RAM do you guys think its good for my computer?

I already have 128 MB of RAM and i am trying to play batlefield but I cant because you nedd a minimum of 256.

IF you open up your computer you can c wat kind you need if their small then it's DDR if their long and big then it's SDRAM

I suggest getting DDR cause they are better and they do something that is very hard to explain in words

I just read my manual for my computer and its said that my computer has two 168-pin SDRAM sockets open.
So I have to buy a SDRAM memory (RAM) for my computer so it will work???????
