I lose sounds in the middle of starcraft..

hello

in the middle of a starcraft game i would lose sounds
not music
i cant hear when my units are being attack
but i hear music playing
i can hear my units attacking
i cant hear my building noises when you click on them
this happen usually like 5-10 mins into the game

it is not my speakers
i tried 3 different kinds
and each time when i leave the game and join a new one
then 5-10 mins later
i hear no sounds again

so what is wrong??thanx in advance

Also, do you lose sounds anywhere else, or is it just in StarCraft?

That used to happen to me sometimes.

If I went to the game menu (push F10) and turned sound off, then on again, it would usually come back.

But I never figured out what was causing it... it was my older computer.

i do the f10 thing..it turn back on for a few seconds and turn back off

i use a windows 98
and sound card...i use is sound max??
i dont know
that is wut is listed under system properties..and sound devices....i forgot what sound card i order to put inside the computer

right click on my computer
select properties
select devices
select properties

which IRQ is your sound card on is it sharing that IRQ with any other devices?

Find out exactly what sound card you have and they go to tthe manufacturers site and make sure you have the latest drivers for that sound card installed on your computer.

where is the IRQ setting..i found it..but i dont quite understand if you know if it sharing??if it has teh same number as something else??....is there a way to find out which sound you have exactlly??because i dont know how to find out....
