ICE SHARD and WALRUS PUNCH

I'm a newbie in programming (although an informatics olympiad student) and how do we make this in GUI? Let me explain. The ice shard is the skill, the projectile moves to about 1600 range, damaging units that are in its path, at the end it created some ice shards to block the enemy (See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3WZdGNqrfc). Walrus Punch is the skill, we just click or press the hotkey. Then a buff on ourself appears. We have to attack an enemy within 10 seconds. The attack deals 2/3/4x critical if the target is above 50% HP, if 50% or lower it will deal more (let's say 3/4.5/6) and the target is impaled to the air, but no stun. Instead of it, there is slow for 4 seconds after landing. The video link is same as above. Also, how to change the map size? Thanks a lot... =)..

you'll need a dummy projectile for the ice shard (a unit with a missile model thats moved through triggers), if you need examples, look up GUI priestess of the moon arrow (also from dota). The only exception is at the end of the projectile, just create 4 doodads that have pathing towards the same angle of the projectile (offset them accordingly).

walrus punch is probably some kind of self buff skill, if not, no target channel that makes a dummy cast a buff on you. Then have some kind of damage detection system and check if attacking unit has buff, if so, deal the bonus crit damage. the impale can be done by pausing the unit and changing the units flying height, im not going to go too much in detail, look at tiny's throw (also in dota) (these spells should be floating around in the resources or something). Slow can just be a dummy casting slow on enemy

i can only post the general idea of the trigger and then you can ask for more info if you need help (because writing a sample code for these would take quite a while) Its much easier if you attempt to write the code, and then post what you're having trouble with

Not to start a DotA discussion or anything..........but since many of the heroes in DotA are ripoffs of other's work anyway, including several from this site, I would say yes thats true. lol.

It doesn't really matter, does it? I mean, that way the heroes get advertised. The creators should be proud.

Not if their work is used for profit, but they receive no royalty. :p Unless of course they don't care, which I'm sure most don't. It's just a game after all.

But yes, I agree with you. PR FTW.
