lol Thanks for the feedback =D +rep

To be honest, I think I'll leave the terrain as flat in the map, but, yes, I will add variety in the hills. For example, some land formations involve a crater and a hill right along the edge of the crater. This way, if the unit is rushing at an uncontrollable speed he can make use of the terrain and swing around it. (Yes it does work =D, I chanced into a formation like this and it happened to be in a corner, worked very well =D) And, about others, I dunno... I think I will put that into the map system.

The jump ability doesn't seem like a bad idea, however, I had already given this thought before, and A) It would be annoying to trigger invulnerability while in air. B) I get the idea that your evading the attack by jumping, but even still, there would seem to be quite a few bugs to work out like that.

You mean increase gravity? The only problem with that is that the creep will get stuck in craters. Which is ridiculously annoying to fix. But there will be some heroes that are unable to escape from the craters. Because its a lot of fun to watch the heroes attempt to escape =D

The only problem with that is then the hero would run out of abilities much faster than techniques. Already that's what happens, but if I do it this way it will be a choice between stats and abilities rather than having them both.

Lol thanks I intend to =P

And yea, I know... Only some of them will have it tho. Not all of them... Because it would be slightly annoying lol. Ones such as slingshot, emergency brake, and maybe Force repel.

I realize that really good terrain would take a long time to do, and I suggest making more heroes and levels atm.

By the way, did you intend for level 7 to be really demonically annoying? Really really fast, and the high traction makes it hard to push them around or swing them off.

And I did mean decrease gravity, although playing it a bit more I think only a small decrease would be necessary - the golems (level 8 I think) tend to get stuck more than others.

For the jump ability, I wasn't thinking of avoiding attacks as much as enemies - I realize the invulnerability would be tricky, and I was more thinking of jumping clear over or away from enemies, by jumping from the tops of hills, or jumping over holes and similar. It would be neat being able to jump off the top of a hill, or jump over a hole while the creeps have to down and up again :)

Finally, when you said 'ones such as slingshot, emergency brake, and maybe force repel' did you mean those will or will not have a casting time? Not sure.

Oh, and I forgot to +rep you earlier.

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
