ICON...Extract and Modify

Using W3IE2>Open>Archive>warcraft III\war3.mpq, BUT which category contains the icons? It's not under Units or Objects. :banghead:

I understand once I find it I can save it to my adobe photoshop program to modify. I totally understand photoshop (no worries there). From there, I'll just follow Darg's tutorial: http://www.world-editor-tutorials.thehelper.net/icons.php to import it back into w3....etc.

Perhaps I'm being misunderstood. Just to check, I went ReplacableTextures\CommandButtons\. However, nothing but BTN<color>.blp were shown. Also checked ....DisAbled, same result.
I'm thinking you think I know something I don't know. So, I'll restate my query:
How does one actually ACQUIRE a Warcraft III ICON to begin with? My particular desire is to modify the BLOODKEY ITEM ICON. As stated, I am totally aware of how to handle the icon once I acquire it, but it's the Acquiring Part that's got me stumped.

P.S. Yes, I did read the other guy's forum message under Icons...help? However, he is a bit cryptic in his wording...therefore, not totally clear. I need CLEAR. THX

Hey, I think... the 'command buttons'... is only for commands and abilities.

Check around the 'Textures' and 'ReplaceableTextures' paths. Gotta be in there somewhere!

Some icons are in war3x.mpq (expansion)

Theres also a 'passivebuttons' directory i think.

(it is definetly lame W3IE2 has no 'search' function).

OMG I'm dunce.

1. Go find that object (with icon you like) in the object editor.
2. Double click the Art - Icon field.
3. The 'Custom Path' box will show you EXACTLY WHERE IT IS.

Ok?

I'm sorry, how do I pluck/copy it from its BTN...blp file? Right click in W3EI2 has only "save."

By the way, I do animated gifs. would you like your ryoko dragon to spray fire?

    Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
