Does the orb work if the attack is not manually ordered?

No, it won't, you have to add a chainlightning to the tower then make a trigger:

Event: Unit is attacked
Cond: Attacking unit == your tower
Act: Order your tower to chain lightning attacked unit

Ok, lotta good ideas, i'm giving rep to ones that deserves it and see first post to see who's idea was added and other stuff cause i can't quote quotes and codes higher then 5 times, this post wont allow me!

Thanks for all the ideas, i only need a few more (like 4-5).

Name:Tri Tower
Model: Blank model with Fire, Ice, and Lightning orb art attached.
Ability: Has 10% chance to fire off one of 3 skills.
-Fire Nova - Shoots out a nova which deals 5*(Random number between 10 and 15) to each hit target.
-Chain Frost - A spell similiar to chain lightning, but instead uses frost nova on each target. Deals 150 to primary, reduces 25 per target within 150 range.
-Lightning Claw - An arc of lightning balls is shot out stunning for .5 seconds dealing 75-100 damage.
Effect: Varies for the 3 skills.

THOUGHTS: For the explosion of shards, summon a water elemental and get rid of it right away [just using the cool looking splash].


Name: Poison Tower
Model: Sky-Fury Tower
Ability used for the skill: Shadow Strike / Acid Spray
Information about the skill:
[Active]Throws a deadly poison at an enemy, causing their movement speed to be slowed by X%. If the infected enemy dies from this poison, it releases another poison that infects the nearest ally of that enemy. [Can add a max of X infestations]
[Passive]Releases a poison cloud every X seconds, causing enemies to be blinded and move X% slower through the cloud, and take X damage per second while in the cloud, and X damage per second for X seconds after they get out of the cloud. If enemies die from this poison, they will release a mini-cloud, with X/X the effect of the original cloud.

THOUGHTS: Can be active or passive. Don't know if active is possible, probably is using dummy units. The passive, IMO, would be cool. If it's a little confusing, you can PM me or just quote it and I'll explain more.

Flame Trap

Name: Flame Trap
Model: Trap Side Fire (sideways)
Ability: Incinerate ~ Shoots a burst of flame (based off Carrion Swarm) that deals 4 damage to all enemies in its line of fire. Targeted units are also affected by Burns, which cause 2 damage per second for 30 seconds. Fires every 0.2 seconds.

Information: Since the Flame Trap will always face the same angle when built, this tower must be placed strategically, where units will walk down it in a line. Also, when you have it casting the spells, play its stand animation, and play its death animation after a couple of seconds of not casting. Add 5 instances of the Incinerate spell to the tower if it can't cast fast enough, and make sure to cast at the same point every time, and not at the units.

Buffs: Burn (on enemies)

Dunno if you'll be able to implement this into your particular TD, but it's fun to have a trap-like tower.

Ability: The Culling ~ Gives a 3% chance to kill the unit instantly.
Presence of Evil ~ Passive aura that drains 1% of life to units in a 400 AoE.
Description: The tower has average attack speed, and average range, but very low damage.
Buff The buff for Presence of Evil is the Vampiric Potion red draining art.

- Name: Rewinding Tower
- Model: Anything "mystic" should do
- Ability used for the skill: Finger of Death
- Effect: Rewinds the target unit, causing him to walk backwards (towards the spawn) for a set duration. Afterwards, he walks into the right direction again.

- Name: Overgrowing Tower
- Model: Ancient Protector should do
- Ability used for the skill: anything passive
- Effect: Adds a certain amount of damage each minute

- Name: Draining Tower
- Model: Voidwalker
- Ability used for the skill: anything passive
- Effect: Has a chance to start draining the target unit, leeching mana and health each second untill the unit walks out of range. The mana leeched will be distributed amongs nearby towers that can have mana. While draining, the tower cannot attack.

- Name: Certain Death Tower
- Model: Anything Demonic
- Ability used for the skill: anything passive
- Effect: When an unit within range of this tower has health that drops below 35%, this tower will instantly kill that unit. Cannot occur more then once every 3 seconds.

I have a idea for a tower

Name: Debris tower
Model: Anything that looks like debris
Ability: 10% chance to do instant kill
Buff: Make one that when it does instant kill all the enemy units cower in fear making them run in the oppisate direction for 5-15 secs

- Ability used for the skill: dunno, some arrow effect like frost arrow (or what its called) if it is base ability you want uss to put here :)
- Information about the skill: (Not. this skill should be able to turn of/on) w/e when this unit attacks he can throw away a uncontrolable powerfull time wrath.
- Effect: when attacking (if frost arrow is on (should be a moded frost arrow without effect, just for the buff)) it will give, like 65% chance to slow the attacked unit 20% to super slow them and 15 % to speed them (talking about movement speed right now :))
add a cd so it fit your game
-Buff: frost arrow buff? human sorcorer slow buff, some other kind of slow buff, and some slow ability set on negitive value or haste

- Name: Necromancer
- Model: Necromancer
- Ability: Raise dead(pased on w/e passive ability), corpse explotion (same as raise dead)
- Information about the skill(s)/effect: corpse explotion: high cd, when use blow upe random corpse dealing max hp of dead unit*0.85-1.25 damage in aoe.
Raise dead: gives x% to cast rasie dead creating a skeleton warrior (yeah pretty much lik the orginaly raise dead on undead necromancer) for x seconds
